GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - UPDATE: The Grand Junction Police Department published a Facebook post Wednesday afternoon, providing more details about the incident.

According to the police department, officers responded to a report of a male with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Despite life-saving measures by emergency personnel, the male died at the scene.

The Mesa County Coroner will be responsible for determining the cause and manner of death.

Police believe this is an isolated incident with no continued safety threat to the public.
