Abortion-rights activists in Portland rally against new Idaho law - KATU

PORTLAND, Ore. — Planned Parenthood and supporters gathered in downtown Portland on Thursday afternoon to rally against Idaho's new abortion law.
The new ban is similar to a law passed last year in Texas, limiting abortions to before six weeks gestation.
Several speakers at Thursday’s event spoke about their own abortion experiences. They're also concerned about a Supreme Court challenge to Roe v. Wade.
"We are geared up for an intergenerational fight. We are going to be in this fight, not just for one year, or two years or five years," said An Do, executive director of Planned Parenthood Advocates of Oregon.
Oregon Right to Life's Executive Director Lois Anderson applauded the new Texas and Idaho laws.
While current Oregon law protects abortion providers and patients, she believes changes could come here.
"I don't see that we're necessarily [going to] be passing a Texas-style law or an Idaho-style law. I think we're going to come up with an Oregon-style law that makes sense for and reflects our values,” she said.
