It had been a sudden and acrimonious split. Where Big Law once thrived, Russia has now become a wasteland of former international law firm offices, which just weeks before were fully operational.
But as the West takes Russia offline, several emerging economies have maintained a deafening neutrality on Ukraine as they seek to hedge against Western dependence and maintain links with governments and investors in all parts of the world.
