LINCROFT, NJ — Are you interested in a job in law enforcement?

The Monmouth County Police Chiefs' Association will host a law enforcement job fair March 8 at the Brookdale Community College campus in Lincroft. The job fair will be co-sponsored by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's office.

The job fair is scheduled to take place from 4 to 9 p.m. March 8 at the Brookdale Community College's Recreation and Events Center, located at 765 Newman Springs Road in the Lincroft section of Middletown.

It is free to attend; you do not need to register and there will be many different law enforcement agencies there, from local police departments to the county sheriff, county prosecutors, State Police and more.

"This free event will provide attendees an opportunity to meet with leaders from municipal, county, state and federal law enforcement organizations," said Manasquan Police Chief Michael Bauer, who said he strongly encourages anyone who has an interest in a career in law enforcement to attend.

"The event will allow interested individuals the ability to learn what opportunities are available in this rewarding and challenging field. Such opportunities include full-time positions, part-time positions and seasonal work as well," said Chief Bauer.

(Bauer is also the president of the Monmouth County Police Chiefs' Association.)

Attendees will be able to speak directly with individual law enforcement agencies to determine if a career in the field is the right path for them, Chief Bauer added. Attendees will also be able to determine the best way to get their career started; speakers are slated to discuss a variety of relevant topics, including resume building, filling out police applications correctly and interview preparation and guidance.

Displays and demonstrations at the event will include tactical weapons and equipment, drones and K9 units.

Anyone with questions about the job fair is invited to contact Chief Bauer directly via email at [email protected].

"We also view this as an invaluable opportunity to promote diversity and inclusivity in our recruitment and hiring of police officers –something that benefits our agencies and our communities alike," said Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey.

In December 2021, New Jersey Attorney General Andrew Bruck issued a directive that urged law enforcement throughout the state to "strive for workforces that reflect the diversity of the jurisdictions they serve, and that can effectively interact with all community members."
