Am Law Second Hundred Firms Are Bumping Up Associate Pay | The Recorder - Law.com
What You Need to Know
- Stoel Rives will increase starting pay for all associates, up to $190,000 in some markets, effective Jan. 1.
- The move matches action taken by other Am Law 200 firms, including Armstrong Teasdale and Hanson Bridgett.
- Flexible working arrangements and DEI commitments are also boosting recruitment and retention efforts.
Stoel Rives will raise annual base compensation for all associates by $10,000 or more next year, the firm said in a memo provided to Law.com on Monday.
The increases mark the third time the Portland, Oregon-born firm has announced upward adjustments in associate pay this year, reflecting both a “market correction” and efforts to “remain competitive in a tight market for talent,” according to Stoel Rives managing partner Melissa Jones.
