Appeals court rules part of Orange County anti-discrimination law unconstitutional - Orlando Sentinel

An appeals court ruled this week that a portion of Orange County’s human rights ordinance conflicted with the Florida Civil Rights Act and is unconstitutional.

The ruling stemmed from a lawsuit filed three years ago by two women who were denied entry into the Rachel’s Orlando strip club because they didn’t have a male with them. But since then, the case morphed into a battle over local anti-discrimination laws, with dozens of cities and counties — including Orange County, and cities Orlando and Mascotte — participating.
