Applications open for Western's Law Enforcement Academy - News8000.com - WKBT
SPARTA (WKBT) — Applications are now available for those interested in become a law enforcement officer through Western Technical College.
Western will offer the state-certified Basic Recruit Academy starting June 6 at its Sparta campus. Upon completion of the 720-hour course, participants will receive the Wisconsin Law Enforcement certification.
The course is open to those employed by a law enforcement agency and those who are not, who are considered “pre-service.”
“A detailed application process is required for pre-service candidates, including interviews and background checks before admission to the academy. Candidates must have 60 college credits or be employed by a sponsoring agency. In addition, recruits must be able to perform all physical activities related to areas of the curriculum and physical fitness testing,” according to the press release.
Tuition is $5,000 for the course.
