Arizona Asks Ninth Circuit to Save Down Syndrome Abortion Law - Bloomberg Law

An Arizona law barring abortions based on a genetic abnormality must be allowed to take effect because there is no constitutional right to end a pregnancy based on unchangeable characteristics, the state told the Ninth Circuit.

Arizona is asking the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit to reverse a lower court decision that blocked the law’s enforcement for the duration of the litigation on the basis that it presents a substantial obstacle to abortion.
