Authorities arrest brother-in-law wanted in deadly shooting in Texas County - KY3

HOUSTON, Mo. (KY3) - The Texas County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man wanted in a deadly shooting Monday night.

Joshua Goodchild faces a first-degree murder charge in the death of his sister-in-law Nikki Goodchild, 31.

Deputies responded to a home on Pine Flat Drive Monday evening. Deputies say Nikki Goodchild’s children found her dead.

“This is a tragic case, I pray for comfort for the family and friends of the victim,” said Sheriff Scott Lindsey. “I also commend the effort of the deputies and assisting agencies that worked on this case to seek justice.”

Investigators have not released a motive for the death of Goodchild. However, Sheriff Scott Lindsey says there is no longer a threat to neighbors.

A judge has not set a bond for Goodchild.
