CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — A big bonus is coming for law enforcement in Campbell County.

The Board of Supervisors just approved a one-time bonus of $3,000.

Virginia's General Assembly allocated money for the bonuses from American Rescue Plan funding during this year's special session.

The allocation was specifically for “compensation of Board-funded sworn positions in the sheriff’s offices," which did not include county-funded school resource officers or county-funded deputies.

Campbell County's Board of Supervisors went a step further to include all three of those positions for a bonus.

Bonuses will come from the county's American Rescue Plan funds.

It must be handed out before the end of November.
