Captain Shreve’s Kendrick Law Jr. chooses Alabama football - Shreveport Times

Captain Shreve athlete Kendrick Law Jr., one of the state’s top uncommitted football recruits, announced Friday in a ceremony in the school gym that he will attend Alabama.

A four-star recruit, according to 247Sports, the 6-foot, 195-pound Law has been courted by numerous colleges over the past few weeks. He had more than 20 offers, including eight from SEC schools, plus Texas and Notre Dame.

Law played both offense and defense for the Gators and was often used as a decoy for Shreve’s other offensive weapons. He rushed 42 times for 384 yards and four touchdowns with two fumbles, while catching 25 passes for 423 yards and five touchdowns. He led Shreve to an 10-2 record and second-round LHSAA Class 5A state playoff game.

LSU coach Brian Kelly stopped by Shreve last week just days after taking over for coach Ed Orgeron in the Tigers’ program.

Law impressed recruiters with his physique, intelligence, speed and football IQ. In addition to Kelly, he had one-on-ones in the past two weeks with Alabama’s Nick Saban, Texas’ Steve Sarkisian and Florida State’s Mike Norvell.
