The Biden administration is working with states and cities across the country to try to boost the energy efficiency of buildings. In addition, there’s money in the bipartisan infrastructure law to help in this effort.
Jonathan Bean has called buildings the “elephant in the room,” when it comes to meeting climate change goals. Bean is an assistant professor of architecture and sustainable built environments at the University of Arizona; he also has a joint appointment with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
The Show spoke with him to learn what he thinks about the fact that there’s money in the infrastructure law to deal with emissions and carbon footprint of the built environment.
