Coroner and Law Enforcement Investigating Possible Human Remains Located in Arcata Marsh – Redheaded Blackbelt - Redheaded Blackbelt

Just after 8 a.m., law enforcement received a report of a body wrapped in bags located in the Arcata Marsh. An officer sent to investigate called for backup and eventually a coroner arrived on scene near the railroad tracks.

According to Arcata Police Chief Brian Ahearn in a text a little after 9 a.m., at that point it was unknown if the remains were human or animal and the investigation was ongoing to sort this out.
