Cuba Gooding Jr. Launches Constitutional Challenge Against NYC Law in Seeking to Dismiss Civil Rape Suit | New York Law Journal - Law.com

An attorney for Cuba Gooding Jr. raised a constitutional challenge Friday to a New York City law that gives victims of gender-motivated violence up to seven years to sue their alleged abusers.

The argument came as Gooding’s lawyer, Edward Sapone, sought to dismiss a federal lawsuit from an unnamed accuser, who said the Academy Award-winning actor had raped her, twice and without a condom, at a Manhattan hotel in 2013.
