DODGE CITY – A Dodge City man suffered apparently minor injuries after crashing his truck while being pursued by law enforcement Thursday night.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, James W. Phillips, 33, of Dodge City, was fleeing from the Ford County Sheriffs’ Office just before 11 p.m. in a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup when he cut through a field.
When the truck left the field, it drove off an embankment. It then went into the roadway before hitting the other side of the embankment. The crash occurred on Primrose Road, between 107 and 108 roads or about 2.5 miles south of Dodge City.
Phillips, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Western Plains Hospital for treatment.
The report did not indicate what prompted the pursuit or where it began.
