The king of comedy and reality TV never stops reinventing himself. After working on shows like Family Feud and Celebrity Family Feud, the comedian turned TV host is bringing his entertainment skills to ABC’s Judge Steve Harvey.

Does Steve Harvey have a law degree?
For those wondering, no, Steve Harvey doesn’t have an actual law degree. He is neither a real judge nor did he ever go to law school.
To be able to preside over a courtroom in the real world, a person needs to earn their bachelor’s degree and then take the LSAT (Law School Admissions Test).
After getting into law school and graduating with a Juris Doctor degree, they need to pass the bar exam. From this point on, it’s all about practising law and gaining experience as an attorney in the courtroom.
One can then apply for a judgeship.
Steve, 64, who graduated from Glenville High School in 1974, went to Kent State University but dropped out in the third year.
In a 2014 interview with Parade, the comedian said that he deeply believes in education, but also stated that not having graduated from college didn’t stop him from achieving his goals.

If the new ABC show will follow the precedent set by the likes of Judge Judy, Judge Jerry and Chrissy’s Court, the rulings Steve will pass will likely be legally binding.
The show’s official casting website says, “all awards/judgements are paid by production.”
