ELECTIONEERING: Questioning the law - Coeur d'Alene Press

Am I missing something regarding the precinct worker who is accused of handing out political material within a hundred feet of the voters?

This dreadful crime has seemed to upset some folks that ironically are affiliated with the very party that has had a 50-year love affair with serious criminals.

I do not know the accused but if she or anyone else handed me material at a voting precinct, I’d politely accept it and not give it another thought.

I’d appreciate an explanation of why this “law” is in the books in the first place. Seems to be a First Amendment issue ultimately. Either way, the people that are losing sleep over this “crime” need to get a life.
