FBI, local law enforcement investigating possible explosion along pipeline in Brookwood - Alabama's News Leader

BROOKWOOD (WBMA) — Several law enforcement agencies are working together on an investigation after a report of an explosion in a rural area along Hannah Creek Road in Brookwood, according to a statement from the Department of Justice.
Shortly after midnight Thursday morning, the Tuscaloosa Sheriff’s Office received a report of the explosion. The Tuscaloosa Sheriff’s Office, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) agents, ATF certified explosives specialist, an Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) Bomb Technician (ATF Special Deputy) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents responded to the scene.
Once on scene, law enforcement personnel located a methane pipeline that was ruptured along with debris, which indicates that the incident could possibly be the result of a criminal act.
