Firefighters, law enforcement called to fire scene in Kingston - Kitsap Sun

KINGSTON – Firefighters and law enforcement officers are responding to the scene of a fire on Burkes Lane off Highway 104 near Kingston.

North Kitsap Fire and Rescue spokeswoman Michèle Laboda said that firefighters were responding to the incident, which was initially dispatched at about 11 a.m. Wednesday. A second alarm, a request for additional emergency response resources, was dispatched from the blaze.

In a Facebook post at about 12:30 p.m., the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office said, "Large police and fire department presence in the area of State Hwy 104 and Hansville Rd. Please avoid the area if possible. There will be more to follow soon."

Responders were staging on Highway 104 nearby, and drivers were asked to avoid the area. A detour around the area can be made via Miller Bay Road and West Kingston Road.
