Search firm Johnson Downie plans to expand outside its Texas roots into several hot legal markets around the U.S. and in London, boosted by a minority equity investment by Houston investment firm Main Street Capital Corp.

Clint Johnson, founder and president of Johnson Downie, said the expansion is client-led, as a number of the search firm’s Am Law 100 clients have asked it to move into markets outside of Texas.
