Graydon hires UC Law administrator Mina Jones Jefferson as chief people officer - Cincinnati Business Courier - Cincinnati Business Courier

One of Cincinnati's largest law firms has hired an administrator from the University of Cincinnati College of Law to head up its talent and professional development.

Graydon, headquartered at 312 Walnut St. downtown, announced Sept. 29 that Mina Jones Jefferson has joined the firm as its chief people officer. She joins the firm from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where she served as associate dean, chief of staff and director of the Center for Professional Development.

Jefferson is the firm's second chief people officer, stepping in for Shelby Thompson, for whom the role was created in 2018. Thompson has since departed to take the chief human resources officer role at US Eye.

"Her dedication to professional development and ties to the local legal community make her the perfect fit to take on this important role," Mike Debbeler, chair of Graydon's executive committee, said in a news release.

Jefferson graduated from the UC College of Law after earning a bachelor's degree in public administration from Miami University. She began her legal career as a commercial litigation partner for Frost & Jacobs, now known as Frost Brown Todd, before entering academia as the director of public service and professional development at the University of Cincinnati College of Law.

Graydon is Cincinnati's fifth-largest law firm with 80 local attorneys, according to Courier research.
