Groundbreaking ceremony held for new University of Maine School of Law - WGME

PORTLAND (WGME) -- Construction is underway on a new location for the University of Maine School of Law.

A groundbreaking was held Wednesday at 300 Fore Street in Portland.

The current building, which has a distinctive round shape many don’t like, is on Deering Avenue.

The University of Maine Graduate and Professional Center, Portland Gateway and the Maine Business School will also join in the new building to collaborate between the departments.

The University of Maine System Chancellor says the building is a testament to how hard students have worked.

Move-in is expected in late 2022.
