Grubhub Latest Delivery Company to Challenge NYC Data-Sharing Law - Bloomberg Law

Grubhub Inc. has joined Uber Eats and DoorDash Inc. in suing New York City over two ordinances that require delivery apps share customer data with restaurants.
The ordinances violate the Takings and Contract Clauses of the U.S. Constitution, Grubhub alleged in a complaint filed Dec. 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
The New York City laws create an “unconstitutional, privacy-infringing, data-disclosure requirement pursuant to which third-party food-ordering and delivery platforms such as Grubhub Inc. (‘Grubhub’) must divulge, against their will, sensitive, proprietary customer information,” the company argued.
