Henderson County law enforcement host drug 'take back' day, offer resources as well - my40.tv

HENDERSON COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — On Saturday, Oct. 23, the Henderson County Sheriff's Office is participating in the DEA’s “National Take Back Initiative," helping properly dispose of unused and expired medications.

From 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., people are encouraged to drop by the Henderson County Law Enforcement Center at 100 N Grove Street in Hendersonville with any prescription medication they want discarded.

Officers say they will also be able to provide some resources for anyone wanting to have a conversation on substance abuse or addiction.

Several other facilities and organizations are participating in the DEA's 'Drug Take Back Day' on Saturday as well. The Polk County Sheriff's Office is holding an event from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the department located at 164 Government Complex in Columbus. And Mission Health is hosting events as well at several locations. Click here to view those taking place around the mountains.
