Our team was pumped to return to the Tulane Corporate Law Institute for the first time in person since 2020. Good food, drinks and regular handshakes were flowing last night at various parties that kicked off the event (and St. Patrick’s Day). Inside the conference, the discussions were more sobering though, with talk of increased regulation hurting deals and the markets trying to stay calm when there’s a war in Europe. Former Goldman Sachs banker Gordon Dyal, who now runs his own advisory firm, got the panels started this morning with a presentation on the current state of play in M&A.
