MADRAS, Ore. — Law enforcement closed Highway 26 in central Oregon on Wednesday, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office said.

The highway was closed in both directions between Warm Springs at the Deschutes River and the top of the grade near Columbia Drive in Madras.

Authorities have not given any details about what caused the closure aside from saying it was a “law enforcement matter,” adding that they will “advise” once the situation is over.

This is a developing story; updates will be posted as information comes in.
