Huntington law enforcement seizes narcotics and makes arrests - WCHS-TV8

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — The Huntington Police Department and the Huntington Violent Crime Drug Task Force used search warrants to investigate drug trafficking, resulting in two arrests and the seizure of narcotics.
On Dec. 29 the task force, along with SWAT team members, used a search warrant to investigate drug activity in the 2100 block of Jefferson Avenue in Huntington, according to a news release from the Huntington Police Department.
Police reported more than 500 grams of heroin, cocaine, marijuana, and suboxone were seized.
Matthew Fortner Jr., 34, of Huntington was taken into custody and Huntington Police say they plan to make additional arrests from the investigation.
A second operation on Jan. 5, organized by the task force and Huntington Police Department’s Patrol Bureau, executed a search warrant in Altizer, West Virginia on Riverside Drive.
Investigators reported the seizure of two vehicles, two firearms, and large quantities of heroin, fentanyl, and methamphetamines.
Philip Rucker, 42, of Missouri was taken into custody. Police reported Rucker was wanted on two active warrants in Cabell County.
The Violent Crime Drug Task Force includes agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives as well as detectives from the Huntington and Barboursville Police Departments.
