Lavelle Law Charities wrapped another successful food drive that raised over $5,000 and more than two truckloads of non-perishable food items, paper goods, and personal care items for the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry.

The event, which has run for the last 17 years, was once again made possible by the generosity of community members, local businesses and community groups, and the event's sponsor Tony's Fresh Market.

"Every year, I am amazed by the way our community steps up to help those in need," said founding partner Kerry Lavelle. "The list of businesses willing to host collection boxes continues to grow each year, while our donors and corporate sponsor Tony's Fresh Market continue to demonstrate their generosity. On behalf of myself and the entire staff at Lavelle Law, thank you to everyone who participated in this year's food drive."

The food drive ran from Oct. 5 through Nov. 5, at which point, the attorneys and staff at Schaumburg-based Lavelle Law collected the donated items and drove them to the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry, which assists more than 2,000 individuals and 700 families per month from seven local communities.

"The Township of Schaumburg is thrilled with this donation and are deeply thankful for our long-standing partners at Lavelle Law. We are honored that you choose to donate to us year after year. Your generous support means that we can offer more options and reach more of our community in need at the Township Food Pantry. We appreciate your hard work in this especially difficult time," said Township Supervisor Tim Heneghan.
