Law Enforcement Agents in the Hydesville Area - Redheaded Blackbelt

Late morning on April 14th, we were alerted to a large law enforcement presence along Highway 36. Readers later confirmed that Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) vehicles, along with agents from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, were at a residence in the Hydesville area.

HCSO Public Information Officer, Samantha Karges, confirmed that HCSO deputies were active in the area but was not able to provide further information at the time. We will update with information as it becomes available.

Please remember that this story is unfolding. Information is being reported as we gather it. However, some of the information coming from witnesses and initial official reports could be wrong. We will do our best to get the facts but, in the case that something is inaccurate, we will update with correct information as soon as we can.
