Authorities have released new details about the murder of a SUNY Potsdam student, but continue to investigate and are asking for the public's help.

Michael Snow, 31, of Massena is being held without bail on the charge of second degree murder in connection with the death of Elizabeth Howell, a 21-year-old student enolled at the university.

According to a report released by the Potsdam Village Police Department, witnesses reported hearing three gunshots coming from a gray sedan on Potsdam's College Park Road around 5:45 PM on Friday, February 18th.

Snow was arrested by state troopers in Massena roughly 24 hours later.

Police are asking area residents and business owners for help in the ongoing investigation. Anyone with security cameras in the area of the murder is requested to review footage in the hour leading up to the February 18th incident.

Tips can be reported to either the New York State Police or local Potsdam police.

In a written statement, St. Lawrence County District Attorney Gary Pasqua said a preliminary hearing in the case against Snow will be held on Friday, February 25th.
