SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) — Dozens of EMS and law enforcement officers with Berkeley and Dorchester County gathered Sunday to support the director of EMS Wendy Lee.

Lee spent over 300 days in the hospital after an MRI found two tumors in the base of her skull. She overcame numerous complications, but now she is finally home.

On Sunday, Wendy celebrated her birthday with fellow colleagues who came together to give Wendy a drive-by birthday parade.

“Especially in the EMS division of it, she has worked with a whole lot of people, she has met a whole lot of people, and now they are coming out to show their love and support for her when she needs it,” said Joel Woods, Wendy's stepfather.

Lee dedicated her whole life to emergency services and worked for Dorchester County for 25 years. She is described by those who know her as a very kind and caring person.
