MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) — Officials with Charleston County School District have confirmed that law enforcement is actively investigating possible threats made toward Lucy Beckham High School.

Mount Pleasant Police Department says no direct threat to the school has been uncovered at this time. The possible threat remains under investigation.

MPPD released the following statement:

"The Mount Pleasant Police Department was made aware of a possible threat towards Lucy Beckham High School that has been circulating social media. Officers are investigating the claim and spoke to some of the subjects involved. The preliminary investigation revealed that a disagreement between subjects took place but a direct threat to the school has not been uncovered. School Resource Officers have been made aware of the situation and officers are continuing their investigation."
