FORT MYERS, Fla.– Law enforcement is responding to a scene at the McDonald’s at 4280 Palm Beach Boulevard. Officials were seen standing outside of the restaurant with guns.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement said the subject is barricaded inside McDonald’s. Some sort of law enforcement robot was seen entering the restaurant.

Deputies were seen using a bullhorn to speak to the suspect inside the restaurant. Law enforcement also set off a flashbang, or smoke grenade, inside the restaurant.

Sheriff Carmine Marceno briefly spoke to the media on the scene.

Palm Beach Boulevard and Marsh Avenue are shut down due to a massive police presence.

Witnesses on the scene tell us there has been a shooting.

The Fort Myers Police Department and Lee County Sheriff’s Office have not confirmed there is a shooting, at this time. Police said there is an armed suspect that they are trying to get in custody.
