Law enforcement leaders gear up for National Faith & Blue weekend - WZTV
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Law enforcement leaders are in Nashville Friday to promote a large outreach project amid national crime rises.
"National Faith & Blue Weekend" is Oct. 8-11.
Leaders say it's the largest and most consolidated police-community outreach project in history.
The mission of National Faith & Blue Weekend (Faith & Blue) is to facilitate safer, stronger, more just, and unified communities by directly facilitating collaborations between law enforcement officers and residents through the connections of local houses of worship. Faith & Blue is based on the premise that strong communities are built on mutual respect and understanding. Law enforcement entities and faith-based organizations are both key pillars of local communities, and when they work together, neighborhoods thrive.
Officials met in Nashville Friday to promote the outreach project. Details about Metro Police's plan for Faith & Blue are expected to be released soon.
