Law enforcement officer from ‘outside agency’ accidently fires gun in Downtown high-rise: police - nj.com
A law enforcement agent accidentally fired a gun inside their Jersey City high-rise home that went through a wall and into a residence next door Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
Fortunately, no one was home at the time, police said in radio transmissions.
Jersey City spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione described the person who discharged their weapon as an “outside agency officer.” Police said in radio transmission it was a Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) agent who worked out of the agency’s New York office.
No charges were filed and no injuries were reported in the incident that occurred just after 12:40 p.m., Wallace-Scalcione said. The name of the FBI agent, who made the call to Jersey City police to report the gun going off, was not released.
