Law enforcement officer, suspect shot in Southeast Columbus - The Columbus Dispatch
A suspect and a law enforcement officer were shot Wednesday morning during an apparent task force warrant operation on Columbus' Southeast Side, police sources tell The Dispatch.
The suspect was critically wounded, the sources say, while the officer's injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
The shooting occurred on the 2600 block of Four Seasons Drive on a street of duplex houses at the back of a large subdivision south of Williams Road, east of Alum Creek Drive, west of the Interstate 270 outerbelt and north of a railroad line.
The task force apparently involved at least Franklin County Sheriff's deputies — Sheriff Dallas Baldwin was among top sheriff's office officials on scene — and at least one Columbus police officer, the sources told The DIspatch.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, which investigates all shootings involving law enforcement officers in Columbus and Franklin County, arrived on scene around 10:30 a.m.
