Law enforcement searching for suspect after deputy shot in Bethel Acres, officials say - KOCO Oklahoma City
BETHEL ACRES, Okla. —
Law enforcement officers are outside a home in Bethel Acres where they believe a suspect accused of shooting a Pottawatomie County deputy is located.

Authorities told KOCO 5 that the shooting occurred near Austin Drive and Patterson Road in Bethel Acres. Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials said the deputy was shot seven times and is in surgery at a hospital in Oklahoma City.
Authorities have not released the deputy's name, but OHP officials said the deputy has been with the Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office for about a year and a half, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Officials identified the suspect as 27-year-old Braedon Chesser, an ex-Marine. He is 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds.
A large law enforcement presence is outside a home where authorities believe the suspect is armed with an assault rifle. They could not confirm what kind of firearm the suspect has.
