Law enforcement searching for suspect after high-speed chase in Belmont County - WTOV Steubenville

BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio — Officials are searching for a suspect after a high-speed chase in Belmont County on Monday morning.

The driver abandoned the vehicle and took off on foot.

“The suspect exited off at the State Route 331 exit and struck a disabled vehicle that was unoccupied on the berm and then struck a utility pole,” Lt. Maurice Waddell of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said. “At that time the suspect got out of the vehicle and fled the scene, and that’s what we’re doing right now is actively looking for the suspect.”

Law enforcement is now looking for a total of three people - two black males and a black female.

The female is described as wearing a red jacket and shorts.

One of the males was wearing a white t-shirt.

The search is continuing in the area of State Route 331.
