The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office released new video of a missing Texas State University student who disappeared while on his way home for Christmas break.

Jason Landry was last seen on December 13, 2020 while driving home to his parents’ home in Missouri City.

Investigators say he deviated from the route home and crashed 4 miles away on a desolate gravel road in Luling.

Newly released dashcam and body cam video shows a state trooper going through Landry’s backpack, which was found away from the vehicle.

A volunteer firefighter who found the crash site is heard saying, “I don’t know if you saw all of his clothes over there. He is completely naked wherever he is at. There is blood on his underwear.”

In the video, one of the officers claims to have found marijuana in Landry’s backpack.

The family has asked for the Texas Attorney General’s Office to take over the case.

The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office shared a statement that reads in part, “We are hopeful that the Texas Attorney General’s Office newly-formed Missing Persons Unit agrees to take this case on and we will be meeting with that Office in the coming weeks.”

Kent Landry, Jason’s father, said he is shocked that the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office released videos of their son on Snapchat taken hours before he disappeared. In those videos, Jason is talking about using marijuana.

His father said, “It hurts to be honest. It feels like character assassination of my son. And it just doesn’t make sense to me. What’s the point? Why?”

Tune in to Fox News at Nine on Tuesday, January 18, to see the Snapchat video of Landry that authorities have shared and the clues left by his digital footprint.
