FORT MYERS, Fla.– Lee County deputies are investigating a shooting near Manassas Court and Heiman Avenue.

A man on scene told an NBC2’s Gage Goulding that his 21-year-old grandson, Joel Garcia, had just been shot. He said someone drove by and shot him in the right arm.

He was taken to the hospital to receive treatment for his injuries but is expected to be okay, according to LCSO.

Garcia is currently in the Lee Memorial emergency room, according to the hospital.

Crime scene tape was placed around the scene while officials respond.
