Law enforcement team up for St. Patrick's Day including patrols in the sky - Siouxland News

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Iowa and Nebraska law enforcement are teaming up for St. Patrick's Day patrol.
They are doing a high-visibility traffic enforcement project.
The officers have been enforcing traffic along Highway 20 and all over the Siouxland area through the day and will continue into Thursday evening/Friday morning.
ISP also has their plane patroling from the sky using a stopwatch to estimate the speed of the cars along the roadways.
The patrol officer in the plane radio's down to the troopers and let them know which car is traveling too fast.
"We're going to be looking to make sure that everybody is slowing down. We have our aircraft up here from the eastern side of the state and we are trying to reduce the high traffic volumes that we have in speeds. Trying to make sure we are changing our driver's behaviors. and making sure they're trying to slow down," ISP Trooper Karen Yaneff said.
Patrols included are Iowa State Patrol, Sioux City Police, Nebraska State Patrol, Woodbury County Sheriff's, and Motor Vehicle Enforcement.
The plane was up near Moville this morning and helped stop 10 cars, 2 of which were driving without a license.
