MIAMI VALLEY, Ohio (WKEF) -- The Clark County Sheriff's Office and Miami Township Police Department are among the law enforcement agencies placing additional patrols on roads throughout the Miami Valley during Super Bowl weekend.

Patrols will focus on impaired drivers, speeding violations and seat belt enforcement throughout the weekend.

"Deputies will enforce a zero tolerance policy for these violations," the Sheriff's Office said.

Sheriff Deb Burchett is reminding all drivers to not operate a vehicle under the influence and to always wear a seatbelt.

Miami Township is partnering with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Super Bowl Blitz: Fans Don’t Let Fans Drive Drunk saturation patrols from February 11 through Feb. 14.

“Impaired driving fatalities are preventable. We expect a lot more people celebrating the big game with the Cincinnati Bengals playing, but we want them to do it responsibly,” said Det. Sgt. Jay Phares, Miami Township Police Department. “Driving while impaired by any substance, alcohol or other drugs, is deadly and illegal.”
