Law Enforcement Trying to Identify Truck Used in Attempted Theft – NewsRadio 560 KPQ - KPQ
Law enforcement is looking for the public’s help in identifying a truck used in an attempted theft at Sangster Motors Sunday morning after 6:00 pm.
According to Chelan County Sheriff’s Office Chief Chris Foreman, a dark gray or silver Toyota Tacoma was used in an attempted theft of two enclosed trailers, although both trailers came off the truck’s hitch and were recovered.
About 20 minutes later, a deputy noticed the suspect vehicle heading down Highway 2 without license plates.
“(The deputy) went to initiate a traffic stop.” explained Foreman, “The vehicle initially began to pull over near Boswell’s on Highway 2 and then the vehicle abruptly made a U-turn and went basically eastbound back towards Wenatchee.”
The deputy did not pursue as the suspect had not committed a known violent felony.
Anyone with information on the Tacoma or its driver is asked to contact Rivercom 509-663-9911.
