Local businesses and law enforcement get in on the April Fools' Day foolery - KMPH Fox 26

The pilot program will consist of a specialized camera called an Automated Fluoroscopic Dedicated J2EE Camera (AFDJ) that will be placed on a traffic light located near our office. The AFDJ can detect drivers utilizing their mobile phone without a handsfree device. When the AFDJ detects a distracted driver, a photo is obtained of the violation along with the vehicle information. The photo is immediately sent to the nearest patrol vehicle mobile digital computer (MDC) and the Merced Communications Center, where an officer or dispatcher will receive an alert of the violation. It's not just your co-workers pulling pranks, local businesses and law enforcement agencies are also getting in on the fun.

Today we are excited to launch the KID (Kids Instead of Drones) Unit. We have found that many kids dream of flying plus they’re lightweight and they give pretty accurate descriptions of what we’re looking for.
