Local law enforcement and Walmart team up to gift kids toys for the holidays - KOMO News

TRI-CITIES, Wash. — Local law enforcement in Washington and Oregon along with Walmart Transportation are collecting gifts for kids who may have to spend the holidays in the hospital.
"We are collecting toys for children who unfortunately have to spend the holiday season in area hospitals here in the Tri-Cities, in Spokane, in Seattle and in Portland," Lt. Aaron Clem with the Kennewick Police Department said.
The Walmart in Kennewick, Pasco, Hermiston, Pendleton and Chehalis set aside bins near the entrance for customers to fill with toys.
Shoppers could purchase gifts inside the store and then drop them off as they head out.
On Sunday at 6 p.m., Lt. Clem said Walmart Transportation volunteers will pick up all the gifts and take them to one central location to then be distributed to families and kids in area hospitals.
