Local law enforcement gathers for first-ever 'Battle of the Badges' - WTOV Steubenville

OHIO COUNTY, WV — The Salvation Army teamed up with local first responders to gather money for the Red Kettles. The Wheeling Police Department, Wheeling Fire Department and Ohio County Sheriff's Office dueled it out in a friendly competition for the first ever 'Battle of the Badges.'
Kettles and the departments were located at Kroger's and Riesbeck's in Wheeling, plus the Highlands.
Each department brought their best holiday spirit hoping to raise the most money.
"We've had a pretty steady stream of customers in and out of the store who have been pretty generous," Wheeling Fire Chief Jim Blazier said. "In the grand scheme of things, everybody wins because this is a great cause and will help a lot of people for the holidays."
All money raised will go towards the Salvation Army, but the department raises the most money will receive a trophy until next year.
