Local Law Enforcement Partnering to Create Multi-Jurisdictional SWAT Team – NewsRadio 560 KPQ - KPQ

The East Cascade Multi-Jurisdictional SWAT Team is being formed with the collaboration of all four local law enforcement agencies.
Wenatchee Captain Brian Chance said the SWAT team will be governed by a Board of Directors that are made up of each agency’s head official. He spoke to the Wenatchee City Council Thursday just before the council approved the inter-local agreement.
“Each team currently has eleven members.” explained Chance, “Our hope here is to expand that up to a total of 24 operational members for the team with varying levels of personnel coming from each agency, dependent on the agency’s size and their current capability.”
The East Cascade Multi-Jurisdictional SWAT Team’s jurisdiction will be all of Chelan and Douglas counties.
Each agency will be responsible for its own personnel’s basic training and equipment, as well as a $15,000 annual payment. The team will start January 1st.
