Louisville law firm announces big growth in Atlanta - Louisville Business First - Louisville Business First
Louisville-based law firm Stites & Harbison PLLC announced that 19 attorneys from two different firms have joined its Atlanta office.
Twelve attorneys from Copeland, Stair, Kingma & Lovell LLP and all seven attorneys from Owen, Gleaton, Egan, Jones & Sweeney LLP are now Stites & Harbison’s employees, according to news releases from Stites & Harbison.
The new additions from Copeland, Stair, Kingma & Lovell include Named Partner Johannes Kingma, Managing Partner Shannon Sprinkle and General Counsel William Newcomb, according to a Stites & Harbison News release.
Other new additions are:
John deMoulpied, Matthew Gass, Jennifer Guerra, Jeffrey Hoffmeyer and Mark Lefkow join Stites & Harbison as members (partners); Daniel Millman and Lewis Perling join the firm as counsel; and Peter Critikos, III and Brandon Sartin join the firm as attorneys.
“Our team of 12 has historically represented accounting and law firms in professional liability matters across the United States. However, in recent years we have grown into a commercial litigation team handling a variety of complex matters," Kingma said in the release. "Stites & Harbison’s platform better suits the growth of our commercial litigation group, and we look forward to the opportunity to practice with some of the finest litigators in the country.”
From Owen Gleaton, M. Michael Egan joins Stites firm as senior member (senior partner); Derrick Bingham, Thomas Mihill, Theodore E.G. Pound and Kathleen Simcoe join Stites & Harbison as members; R. Ann Grier joins the firm as counsel; and Julie Comer joins as attorney. Three additional staff members from Owen Gleaton also joined Stites & Harbison.
“Stites & Harbison, a strong multistate firm with a full-service platform, extensive support services, and significant resources. The combination of these strengths was very appealing to us when we considered joining,” Egan said in the release. “We are going to be able to offer our clients more services from a wider base of attorneys.”
The additional Atlanta attorneys bring experience to the following practice areas, according to the release: commercial litigation, construction, torts and insurance, intellectual property and technology, professional liability, product liability and trusts and estate planning.
“We were very pleased to have announced the addition of seven attorneys from Owen Gleaton last week,” Marjorie Farris, chair of Stites & Harbison, said in the release. “We are beyond thrilled to have added another 12 excellent lawyers to our Atlanta office in a matter of two weeks.
