Man Carjacked at Gunpoint in Covelo Today and Law Enforcement Is on the Lookout for the Suspect – Redheaded Blackbelt - Redheaded Blackbelt

A Be On the Lookout Bulletin just broadcasted to Mendocino County law enforcement about 4:15 p.m. indicates there is an active search for a carjacking suspect who reportedly held the victim at gunpoint earlier today in Covelo and subsequently fled.

The bulletin indicated that around 11:00 a.m. the suspect was in the area of the Covelo Cemetery when a black 2015 Chevrolet Camaro approached with multiple subjects within. The suspect, described as a Native American adult with a cursive lettering tattoo near his eyebrows, reportedly brandished a firearm and proceeded to take the victim’s vehicle.

The stolen vehicle was described as a lifted, black Dodge truck with red rims. The suspect entered the truck, drove away, and the black Camaro followed.
