MDH: State, federal law enforcement involved with cyber incident impacting COVID dashboard - Fox Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — The Maryland Department of Health says state and federal law enforcement are "engaging" with state cybersecurity experts after a cyber incident was identified earlier this month.
The cyber incident knocked the Maryland Department of Health website offline in the wake of the attack.
Nearly two weeks later, some of the metrics on the state's COVID-19 dashboard still reflects data as of December 3rd.
MDH says reporting for some COVID surveillance data has been partially restored and hospitalization data is up-to-date.
There is no evidence any data has been compromised, according to MDH.
Andy Owen, a spokesperson for the Maryland Department of Health, said in a statement Wednesday afternoon:
Investigative and restoration work continues around the clock in response to the network security incident that recently occurred.
As part of the active investigation, state cybersecurity experts are engaging with both state and federal law enforcement partners. There continues to be no evidence of any data being compromised.
All COVID testing and vaccination services are online, and COVID surveillance data has been partially restored. The incident command structure is intensely focused on the full restoration and reporting of surveillance data, taking into account all of the steps and protocols involved in the transmission and verification of the data.
Legislative leaders and members of the Board of Public Works have been briefed on the ongoing response, and we will continue to provide updates as the investigation unfolds.
